12 teams to play in preseason event to benefit Walk Off Charities
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The high school baseball season will get its first pitch in a big way with the third annual High School 9:12 Baseball Classic benefitting Walk Off Charities.
The 12 teams in the field will each get two games during the week, culminating with three championship games on Saturday. All games will be played at Sans Souci Park, starting on Feb. 8.
“This has become a rite of spring to start the season with this tournament and feature some of the best teams in Northeast Florida,” said Frank Frangie, President of Walk Off Charities. “We are excited for them to open the season at Sans Souci as we continue to make this event better each year.”
The event features three four-team pods, with an opening round game on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with the winners advancing to the championship round on Saturday. All championship round games will be broadcast on CW17 and 1010XL.
"One of our goals with High School 9:12 Presented by The CSI Companies is to run and produce high level athletic events," said Alan Verlander, CEO of High School 9:12 Presented by The CSI Companies. "This year's event will showcase the best teams in the area. We are also thankful to our media partners (WJXT and 1010XL) for their vision to carry high school baseball and sports on their networks."
